Conferencing Tops
In the early days of office furniture Conferencing Tops came in two styles; "P" and "D" or "U" or "Bullet" top. These days' conferencing tops come in a variety of shapes, styles & materials to meet virtually any desired need or esthetic. Here are some examples:
A Grommet is an eyelet placed in a hole in a worksurface or panel to protect or insulate a cable passed through it. Most manufactures offer desks with or without grommets and some even allow you to specifically place them on the right, center or left in a variety of combinations.
Hutch
A Hutch is a freestanding unit that usually has flipper or hinged door cabinets or open shelves and sits directly on the desk surface. Most Hutches can be fitted with a tackboard or tool rails system and also accommodate a task light for illuminating the work surface below.
Modesty Panel
A modesty panel is a thin board of wood or metal that is attached to the front of a desk or underside of a worksurface. It is intended to shield legs, ankles, or feet from view in a variety of circumstances. The panel provides privacy for the person seated at the desk, as it covers the upper part of the legs. This privacy role is particularly useful in cases where the desk is positioned facing forward towards the "public side" of the desk. The modesty panel provides structural support for the four legs of the desk or worksurface, and it may also be used as a place for affixing electric cabling, computer cabling, or electrical cabling.
Pedestal
Pedestals in the Furniture Industry are what the client generally refers to as "Drawers". Pedestals can hang under a worksurface, can be used to support the worksurface or sit under the worksurface yet not be moveable. Pedestals can also have wheels attached to become a Mobile Pedestal. Some Mobile Pedestals even have a cushion on top to allow for extra seating. These days Pedestals come in all types of configurations to meet the demands of the modern workplace. Here are some examples:
Support Bases are used to support the extending end of a Peninsular Top, Worksurface, Table or Conferencing solution. In addition most Manufactures allow the end user to choose the size, type, material & functionality of the support base fit almost any desired need.
